It is a source of energy definitely for the hungry ones..hehe.. but also for emotionally draining people..heat;water;air are involved in its process..universe's most powerful elements are involved to lift you up positively.
Yes..cooking acts as an anti-depressant & stress reliever. Professional therapist adopt this therapy & it's true;to treat depression and mental illness.
When you are sad and No DJ'S;jokes;books;songs;dance;philosophy;funny videos;party;social life are working on you and still inspite of your efforts you are emotionally becoming worse..then just go to your kitchen & calmly prepare something delicious..sit and eat..you will forget that you was even sad.
So avoid packaged food and restaurants visit and try your hands in cooking..I bet you, it would not be less than any adventure,curiosity,creativity,excitement,enthusiasm & fun.
In true sense..In cooking happiness is shared..you cook..you feel happy..you share it with your friends,family& others even poors; they feel happy..ongoing and real source of joy & love.
